Top 10 Pajama Manufacturers Worldwide in 2026, and How to Choose

The top pajama manufacturers worldwide for independent and growing brands are Cotton Style in Portugal, PajamaWorks in China, Thygesen Textile in Vietnam, Essence Garment, PJGarment, The Pima Company, Sew Apparels, Cord Apparel, Sinosilk and Argus Apparel. The right one depends on your order size, fabric and target market, not on the list position.

How we ranked this list

Size alone would put a handful of multinational apparel groups at the top, and most of them will never take a first order from a new label. So we ranked for a brand that wants custom sleepwear made, using four questions:

1. Is sleepwear a real focus? A published pajama programme counts for more than one line in a long product list.
2. Is the production route clear? You should be able to tell where the garments are made and whether the company runs the factory.
3. Does it publish facts you can check? Minimums, capacity, lead times and audits beat adjectives.
4. Can a smaller brand get in? Private label support and stated entry points both count.

Cotton Style sits above us because it has more than four decades of sleepwear history and makes private label in its own European factory. We would rather say that than claim a first place we cannot defend.

The 10 manufacturers in detail

1. Cotton Style (Portugal)

Cotton Style has focused on sleepwear and loungewear since 1979, starting in the north of Portugal. It makes private label for small and medium brands in its own factory, and its team helps with design, fabric and accessories. It also runs its own brands, including MIRA and DIPLOMAT.

Worth asking: the minimum per style, and how your range is kept separate from its own labels.

2. PajamaWorks (Dongguan, China)

That is us. PajamaWorks is the sleepwear brand of Dongguan Hualingniao Apparel, a factory established in 2006. As a custom pajama manufacturer, we take orders from 100 pcs per style, per colour, with samples in 7–10 days from a confirmed design and bulk in 25–30 days after sample approval. We cover women’s pajamas, men’s pajamas, robes and loungewear, with private label finishing.

Worth asking: custom-dyed, printed or woven fabrics are confirmed per quotation, so ask us for the minimum on your exact fabric.

3. Thygesen Textile (Vietnam)

Thygesen Textile Vietnam belongs to Thygesen Textile Group, which dates its textile history to 1931. It states capacity of up to 800,000 pieces a month and lists WRAP, SA8000 and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 among its certificates. Pajamas sit alongside underwear, kidswear and activewear.

Worth asking: its standard minimum, since this is a large-programme producer.

4. Essence Garment (China, Vietnam, Bangladesh)

Essence Garment describes more than 25 years in sleepwear, 600+ workers, 300,000+ pieces a month and sleepwear factories across three countries. Its stated minimum is 100 pieces per style and colour.

Worth asking: which country and facility would make your order, because cost, duty and lead time all depend on it.

5. PJGarment (Shantou, China)

PJGarment publishes a 5,000+ m² factory with 200+ employees and eight production lines. It also states an amfori BSCI audit valid through February 2027, which is more specific than most suppliers manage.

Worth asking: the minimum for your fabric, and a copy of the audit.

6. The Pima Company (Peru)

The Pima Company was established in Florida in 2009 and produces through a partner factory network in Peru, with more than 40,000 units a month. It works in Peruvian cotton and lists pajamas for kids and adults for brands in the USA.

Worth asking: which partner factory will sew your order, since this is a network rather than a single site.

7. Sew Apparels (Bangladesh)

Sew Apparels has operated since 2018 and states 850+ workers and monthly capacity of 580,000 pieces. For woven pajamas it publishes two entry points: 300 sets on stock fabric and 2,000 sets on custom-developed fabric, per style and colour.

Worth asking: how the stock fabric options match your weight and hand-feel target.

8. Cord Apparel (USA)

Cord Apparel offers custom pajama sets and private label in bamboo, silk and cotton, through USA-based production as well as global options. That makes it a natural call for a brand that wants a domestic route.

Worth asking: whether your order would be made in the USA or overseas, and the actual minimum.

9. Sinosilk (Hangzhou, China)

Sinosilk is a silk specialist established in 2016. It offers custom printed pajamas and lists OEKO-TEX, ISO 9001 and SEDEX certificates on its site. For a pure silk line, a silk specialist is usually a better fit than a general sleepwear factory.

Worth asking: the minimum per print, and the momme weight used in the quoted sample.

10. Argus Apparel (Los Angeles, USA)

Argus Apparel lists a Los Angeles address and a dedicated pajama service. It highlights bamboo sleepwear, silk or satin on request, and low minimums for boutique and emerging brands. Pajamas are one service among many, from uniforms to swimwear.

Worth asking: where production takes place, and the minimum in figures.

Which region suits your order

Region is a trade-off, and duty, freight and rules of origin change, so confirm them for your own market.

• China suits small custom runs and printed ranges, thanks to its wide choice of sleepwear fabrics and trims.
• Vietnam and Bangladesh suit repeat, higher-volume programmes.
• Portugal suits European brands that want short shipping distances and a Made in Europe story.
• Peru is the natural choice when Pima cotton is the product story.
• USA suits brands that want domestic production and can accept a higher unit cost.

How to vet any pajama manufacturer

A list gets you to a shortlist. Choosing still takes your own checks, and the common mismatch is size rather than quality: a factory built for 20,000-piece programmes will not give a 300-piece launch the attention it needs.

Confirm sleepwear is a specialism

Soft fabrics move under the needle, fits are generous and elastic waistbands decide comfort. A factory that makes excellent shirting is not automatically good at a modal lounge set, so look for sleepwear and soft knitwear in the portfolio. Find out who you are talking to

• A manufacturer owns the production line and can answer concretely about machinery and subcontracting.
• A trading company places your order with factories, which can help on a mixed range but puts you one step away from the people making it.
• An agent represents you locally for a fee, which is mainly worth it when you run several suppliers.

Ask which production steps happen in their own facility and which are outsourced.

Ask the questions that separate suppliers

1. What is your minimum, and what drives it? See pajama MOQ explained.
2. Which sleepwear fabrics do you work with regularly? You want weights and constructions, not every fibre that exists.
3. What does your sampling process look like? Compare the answer with how sampling works.
4. What happens when bulk does not match the sealed sample? This is the most useful answer you will get.
5. Who will I talk to during production?
6. What can you not do? A supplier with no limitations has misunderstood the question. Each of our manufacturing pages lists its limits for this reason.

Verify certificates at the source

Ask for the certificate number and check it with the issuer. OEKO-TEX, GOTS, WRAP and SA8000 each come from a named body. If you sell in the USA, a supplier should also be able to speak to the Flammable Fabrics Act and textile labelling rules.

Watch for red flags

• A quotation before anyone asks about your fabric, quantity or construction
• Reluctance to make a physical sample, or pressure to skip to bulk
• Product photos at a quality the quoted price cannot support
• Certificates sent as images with no issuing body or number
• Vague answers about which steps are in-house
• No questions about your business, since good factories qualify buyers too

Judge the sample, then run a paid trial

Ask for a physical sample in your intended fabric. Wash it as your care label will instruct and measure it again, check the inside seams, see whether the waistband twists, and compare colour in daylight and shop lighting. Our sample development process shows how a review runs.
